Here are some pictures of the beautiful artwork that was done.  Everything was made by each individual.  Nothing was pre traced or pre painted.  I loved seeing all the variations.

Our sons preschool teacher is moving on and will be sadly missed.  Thanks miss Jamie for all the love you gave to the boys and thanks for ALL your patience.  I wish you lots of happiness and success.

I made her a special going away present, hope she likes it!

This would make a great teacher appreciation week gift or end of year gift, dont you think?  I might be making a bunch of these to sell, so keep an eye out!

Cant get enough of these crayons!

I am a member of a site called pinterest.  Its just a cool site for people who like posting pictures of neat things.  These crayons caught my eye.  Someone by the name of Pete Goldlust created these carved crayons and I just am in awe of these.  So beautiful to look at.

Watercolor Koi Fish

Thought this lesson might be too involved for the younger children, but after closely observing the shape of the fish, I realized the basic tear drop shape makes the Koi fishs' outline and it should be easy to replicate.  We have been talking alot in class about perspective and "how you view/see" something.  We envisioned ourselves looking down into a gigantic fish aquarium, and what we saw, is what we paint.

The results were again amazing.  Loved all the varieties and different compositions the students came up with.  Here are the results.

Mommy and Me

Not too often I get pictures taken of me along with the kids.  I seem to be the only photographer in the house and so I get chosen to capture all the moments.  This picture was taken when my sister was visiting from Rhode Island.  She was given permission to use my new Canon T3i DSLR camera, which I am absolutely in love with!

This is a picture of me and my daughter Hope who is 2 years old.  I know, I know, the hair!

Perspective

This weeks lesson was so interesting to see all the different results we got from 1 project!  We talked about perspective a bit and painted with watercolors Japanese Koi Fish.  We painted them as if we were looking down into the fish tank and observed them swimming.  Pics are on their way, still have to download them.  But for now, I have a neat picture to show you.

I found this one on Pinterest.com, its a neat site that I am a member to and its basically a site where people upload interesting photos of people, art, unique things, animals, just about anything.

This picture captures the essence of perspective and its just truly beautiful.  Take a look and see what you think.

Dinosaur Silhouettes

This is a cute lesson that definitely attracts the boys in the class.

We first started by making the skyline and creating different colored gradients for the background.  I cut out different dinosaur templates and asked the kids to trace the dinosaur and then paint it in black.  Alot of the kids had problems with staying in the lines, so a small lesson was taught on how to have control with the paintbrush.
